Ascot tie 100% vintage silk

 Before the late Victorian or Edwardian era in which it acquired the name of Ascot tie, this particular garment was called a plastron and was equally widespread, albeit with some aesthetic differences.
The name clearly says that it was not a British invention, but a French one, and its entry into fashion in men's fashion dates back to the seventeenth century.
