How to become a sustainable consumer: the truth about fashion and its impact on the environment and people

We live in times of change and we need to be aware of the impact of fashion on the environment and society. Sustainability is a major challenge for all of us and requires a shift towards a fashion based on transformation and not just on consumption.

The Fast Fashion model has a negative impact on the environment and on the lives of the people who produce the clothes. It is important to understand that when we buy a t-shirt for €5.99 we are making ourselves accomplices to a system that exploits people and destroys the planet.

To become more sustainable consumers we can:

  • buy second hand or vintage clothes
  • choose brands that use sustainable materials and practice ethical production
  • buy less and carefully evaluate what we really need
  • wash our clothes less often and use eco-friendly detergents
  • repair our garments instead of throwing them away

We are all responsible for the change towards sustainable fashion. We are all responsible for making the right choice for our planet and the people around us.
